General Psychiatry

Ecdysis provides comprehensive mental health care for individuals experiencing a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. We focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health disorders, considering biological, psychological, and social factors affecting wellbeing. This allows for the development of integrated and personalised treatment plans.

Who We Help

Ecdysis works with adults age 18 and over who are experiencing a variety of struggles including:

Anyone struggling with their mental wellbeing can benefit from psychiatric support.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment

Ecdysis provides thorough evaluations to understand each patient’s mental health concerns, history, and current symptoms. This includes diagnosis and formulation of a tailored treatment plan for a broad range of conditions, including:

Medication Management

If a diagnosis is made, a treatment plan will be crafted to each individual’s need. Medication is often a part of that plan and our services include prescribing and monitoring medications aimed at supporting mental health while ensuring treatments are safe, effective, and adjusted as needed over time.

We can work closely with your other providers such as:

This team-based approach can facilitate a more coordinated and holistic outcome.

ADHD

Ecdysis has limited space for ADHD assessments each month. These appointments are first come, first served. In addition to an assessment, they include a medication management plan, should the diagnosis of ADHD be confirmed.

Ecdysis does not provide recertifications of prior diagnoses without a full initial ADHD assessment session.

What should I expect from ADHD treatment?

A typical course of care for assessment and treatment of ADHD begins with an initial assessment and diagnosis.  If the diagnosis of ADHD is made then treatment will be initiated.  There will be several follow-up appointments to find the right medication and the right dosage.  This typically takes from 3-6 follow-up appointments (usually 30 minute appointments).  Some cases may take more appointments if there are multiple medication changes while trying to find the right medication and dose.  Once the right medication and dosage is found then a brief period of follow-up is recommended with Ecdysis prior to transferring care and follow-on prescriptions to your GP.
